CANES FILM FESTIVAL 2021 – April 30-May 1-2, 2021
Cosford Cinema/Shoma Hall/Online
All films will be screened Online from April 30-May 2nd.
CCA350 and below will be screened Online only.
CCA 351-CCA450 and above will screen at Shoma Hall
CCA 451 and above will screen at Cosford Cinema
First Year Grad films will be Online Only
Second Year Grad Films will screen at Shoma Hall
Thesis Films will screen at the Cosford Cinema
Scripts
Deadline for Script Entry April 1st
Only feature film scripts (@90 pages) or hour-long episodic scripts may be entered in the Script Competition. Scripts submitted to the festival must have been completed for credit in an official CCA course during the period of Jan 1, 2019 – April 16, 2021

Screening at the Cosford Cinema
Besides the Vimeo/Youtube link you provide with your festival submission form on or before April 16th - we will need a quicktime video of your film to upload/screen. Deadline for your screener is: April 26th

CANES FILM FESTIVAL – PROJECTION TECH SPECS
We ask that you deliver your film as a quicktime (.mov) file with an H.264
codec. We will announce an online site to upload your films TBD.
Encoded using the following settings:

Resolution/Aspect Ratio:

1920x1080(1.78:1-16x9,HD),
-
1998X1080 (1.85:1 flat), or
-
2048X858(2.39:1scope).

If you have a film in 1.66:1 or 1.37:1 or another non standard
ratio, please contact us.

23.98fps, 24fps, or 30fps. Please only send files that are progressive
scan. Interlace files will look degraded and have a ghostly frame
blending.

Please do not put color bars or tone in your file.

Please put three seconds of black at the beginning of your film and at
the end.

Subtitles must be “burned in” and positioned in the “active” picture
area, not in letter-boxed region.
Please label the file with its name and aspect ratio: YOURFILMNAME_<AspectRatioOfYourFilm>.mov
Following these specifications will help ensure your film looks the best we can make it look.
